High Price Mezuza

My father-in-law bought this Mezuza from highly regarded Sofer in Netanya. He paid a lot for it - 200 dollars - and I wanted your opinion about it.
I found that some Chaf Sofits are not long enough and that some Lameds are going into to letters above. Overall I'm underwhelmed about this one.

  1. Writing quality consistency nowhere matches the price.
The nekuda of most hey's are smaller than most yudim of this ktav.
Finally - look at 5 lines up. עיניכם
And this was all in a 20 sec glance...

    1. Indeed - also I see Nafshechem, in the top, with a messed up Shin.
I agree with you, it's not justifiable

    2. At this angle it's hard to comment and see the size of the nekudas of the Heis. It seems the Nun of Einechem doesn't have tagin.

  2. Maybe the Sofer commands these prices because of his tzidkus not because of his handwriting. Just a לימוד זכות...

    2. I agree. The price may be because of the sofer's reputation. If not, I'd say it's a 70 dollar mezuza.

    3. Keep in mind that this is a 7cm Mezuzah and for the size the Ksav is very nice. It may not be worth $200 but it is worth quite a bit. (more then 70)

  4. I think sholom is correct its a nice mezuza 7 cm and although its almost impossible to be mehudar at this size if a small mezuza was needed and was special ordered this is the best he can get in this size the price is high but not outrageous.
At Beis Hastam we sell a mehudar 7cm for $120 (i think its a bit nicer)
