HOwever, if it DID have to touch (.g. if it was a Ches), it would be Kasher because at arm's length, it certainly looks connected
The image is not so clear... But as long as there is a separation of a Chut Ha'saarah, though not udeal, its Kosher (Shu"t Rivash Siman 120).That being said, it is important to note tgat "chut Ha'sarah" isn't merely a "mashehu she'bemashu" that can only be seen under magnification. A Chut Ha'sarah means a visible seperation albeit very small...
