Both the Shulchan Aruch Harav and the Mishnah Brurah use similar terminology when describing the importance of the shin being "pointy" on the bottom and all three branches of the letter shin meeting at a point or "chad" at the bottom of the letter. I saw something in your father's name in Kovetz Etz Chaim Bobov and spoke to the person who quoted it and he suggested I speak to the son who worked with R' Zirkind z"l making retzuos. if I can confirm it's accuracy I'd be happy to share it on the forum. Can you kindly email me at sofer@stam.net?
