Does this porch need a mezuzah and where should it go?

The bottom nibs are 76cm high

  2. Because the porch isn't chayev or because it's not a tzuras hapesach?

    1. אין כאן דין צורת פתח
      כי המצבות מהצדדים מבטלים השער

  3. Pillars that support the roof do not require a mezuzah.
    See:

    1. I think that what Rabbi Weiner is saying is that this is a combination of a doorway and two side windows. The doorway has no side-posts because the windows combine with it. The "pillars" are edges of a window, not a doorway; you can't walk along them.

  4. In my opinion it needs a mezuza as a bais shaar. The pillars are not only for holding up the roof they are to give the porch an enclosed look. If the lower part is ten tefachim high the mezuza would go on that part if not the mezuza would go on the top third. pische tshuva discusses this situation and brings siddur derech chaim. sorry I do not have the address in front of me
